As a church we are teachable and empowering

But that does not mean we want to dominate you by telling you how to put your faith into practice. We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy, for it is by your own faith that you stand firm. (2 Corinthians 1:24, NLT)

Our Church Values

A Brief History

Our church came into being when some believers in Plett felt that there was a strong need for the establishment of a charismatic church in the town.
Bob Hodgson, the then pastor of Mossel Bay Community Church and coordinator of the IFCC for the Southern Cape, was approached and an invitation was extended to Danie and Elsa Pretorius to come to Plett and pastor the new church. The Lord confirmed His will through giving Elsa the Scripture from Zechariah 4: 6, “This is the Word of Jehovah to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.”

On the 3rd of December 1993, the first official service was held in the Community
Hall. The church grew steadily and at the end of the year, the first elders, Bruce and Ida Dodds, Andrew and Sandy Smith and Simon and Tina Sykes were appointed. Although there was never a lack of temporary accommodation, there was always a strong desire for the church fellowship to have their own premises. Then, while on holiday in the Karoo in 1997, the Lord gave Danie a word that our fellowship would be given a piece of land in the center of town, upon which we could build a church.
A long search followed to find the right property, but miraculously, in 2001, land was donated near the junction of the N2 and Marine Way. The Word of the Lord was fulfilled. In 2001 construction began and our new church opened its doors on the 26th of May 2002.

Outward Focused

  • We desire to see the Kingdom of God at work, both in our community and beyond.
  • Our focus is to connect people to God, connect people to each other, and connect people to those in need.
