Hello all, from beautiful Mozambique It is said that time flies when you are having fun.....but I have come to find.....TIME JUST FLIES! For those of you that have got used to LONG letters from us, this year is something new. For the sake of staying in contact I am forced to cut down on ramblings for a while and just say....We appreciate you all and could not be here without those of you who continue to faithfully support us here in Northern Mozambique... When we left here in January for our trip to SA we had a list of needs. For us big needs and crucial ones to being able to stay. Our inexpressible thanks to all those who contributed to providing us with:
Your obedient, generous and faithful giving made it possible for us to return and continue and expand ministry, as well as reviving our faith and encouraging us greatly. As an update I offer the following; On our return home in May we were expecting the usual quiet easing in to life back here. Not so this time, and wonderfully so. we were thrown into activities and excitement as we discovered all that had happened while we were absent. Abubacar exceeded even our expectations in his faithfulness and his fervor. He continued to share his love for Jesus with his own people and saw 7 turn to the Lord in that time. For those of you who are thinking...." is that good?" It is AMAZING! That almost doubles the believers we know, but even better, they are people who have given up much to serve the Lord...among them...a witchdoctor and his apprentice. I know that it is perhaps difficult to grasp the magnitude of this act.....but it renders us speechless and effervescent in bursts. This is a man who has stories of spiritual bondage and activity that would make your skin crawl....with experience of satan's power and hold....but God won his heart through the love and attention and fearlessness of a humble servant. After spending hours with Keith and Abubakar asking questions like....how will I survive ( he loses his income by giving up his craft) .... how does spiritual power work.... and confessing unspeakable acts. He surrendered to the One who loved us first and loves us no matter what we have done. A few days later they went to his home and removed all his articles of witchcraft....and brought them to our home and burnt them in a quiet few moments of great victory. We praise God for miracles such as these. he loves every one....the most and the least. This past month we were priviledged to baptize three new believers, in the lovely waters of lake Niassa. After years of prayer and labour we are overjoyed to see people making true commitments to the God who has loved them from the beginning of time. Many of you will remember us sharing about Lazaro. How for serving the Lord he lost his income and his family as well as his respect in the village in the space of a few weeks....Well we are overjoyed to report that he has gone off to bible school.....and his wife is with him. She defied her family at great price to follow her husband and we ask you to pray hard with us for her salvation and her release from the clutches of evil. When she left her father cursed her....told her she would die or go crazy if she left with Lazaro. She left with great fear in her heart and we have received news that she is displaying odd "crazy" behaviour. here in Mozambique that is a common curse. Madness. we believe the Lord will honour her for choosing to go with her husband and seek Him, but we need your prayers. Fear is the opposite of faith and she will need faith to break free. We trust that her time under the word of God for the next few months will bring about effective change and great faith in her. If anyone should feel so inclined we need to cover her school fees for the year, to the amount of R4000. Verniz continues with his ministry on the mountain and the running of the church. Pray with us for wisdom as we face the issues one faces in a body of believers. Last week we started an adult literacy class. We were blessed with wonderful material in Portuguese and the books were given for 30 adults. The first week was full of enthusiasm, the second a little slower, but it feels wonderful to be able to offer this facility to adults who missed out on an education Abubakar has been given a beautiful piece of land in Chilovelo, the village where he will be planted and bit by bit is getting ready to move. God has opened great doors for him in a solely islamic village and we stand amazed. As school has upped a level this year, mornings are filled with school, and work, for us and we battle forth. Keith was greatly discouraged when one of our wonderful new panels fell and was shattered while they were mounting it on a pole. Funny what challenges we can breeze through and how satan knows just what will really discourage you. So we still have a VERY long way to go in making a home on our small patch of borrowed earth. The next step for us is to lay a floor in the cottage in an effort to get somewhere before the rains come this year.In our the list below you will find the cost involved if anyone would like to help out. Well in an effort to keep things short and concise.....that is that. Bless you all and drop us a note, we love hearing from you all, makes us feel connected. Yours in His service Keith, Bron and Zoe Eden UPCOMING NEEDS:
